The Story Behind Move to Germany

A relocation planner built from lived experience. Made to spare you the confusion we went through.

Founder & Builder

When my wife and I moved to Germany in 2023, we thought we had it all figured out. We didn't. We ended up spending months drowning in confusing forum threads, outdated blogs, and embassy pages that didn't match our situation. We basically learned how German bureaucracy works by making mistakes, paying the price, and writing down the right answer so we wouldn't mess up again.

The information is out there, but it’s scattered across a dozen different websites and it’s usually never tailored to your specific life situation, or tells you what to do after you land.

So, I took our stacks of messy personal notes, embassy emails, and everything we learned along the way, and used AI tools to help me build this planner from scratch.

Official government documents are still your absolute source of truth, and you should always do your own research because embassy rules can change overnight. But this tool goes beyong your basic needs and really gives you recommendations and insights that can help you along the way. I built the exact tool I wish someone had handed me when we arrived.

I really hope its useful and would love to hear your feedback!

Our Standards & Sources

Accuracy is non-negotiable. Here is how we keep this tool trustworthy.

All visa, salary, and legal requirements listed on this site are regularly verified and cross-referenced with official German government portals (like BAMF and Make-it-in-Germany). Because local embassy requirements can vary, we always encourage users to perform final due diligence.
